I arrived in Leafton today. It really is a nice town! On the bus ride to town, I met a cat named Rover (odd, I know) who gave me a map of Leafton and told me to go to the Town Hall in order to find out about vacant houses.
I went to Town Hall and met a pelican named Pelly, who directed me to the locations of all of the vacant houses.
Is she in a hurry to make me leave??? |
When I headed off to the first vacant house (which I wanted because it was close to the shop), I saw a lion walking about. His name was Mott, and he seemed pretty cool.
Who's a rookie?! |
I went into the house and looked around a little bit, and then left. To my surprise, a raccoon-tanuki-thingy was at the door! His name was Tom Nook, and he was the owner of the house, as well as the nearby shop, Nook's Cranny. He told me that I would need to work there a bit to pay off my debt and learn about life in Leafton. Nook told me to introduce myself to the villagers, and to the Mayor at Town Hall.
Expensive... |
Since Town Hall was close by, I decided to go there first. There was a weird old turtle by the counter. I spoke to him, and - without introducing himself - asked me what my favorite animal was! I like dogs and cats, but I said that turtles were my favorite just to be nice. He then introduced himself as Tortimer, the mayor of Leafton! What a shock!
Flattering the Weird Mayor |
I left Town Hall in search of my fellow villagers. I came across a tough penguin named Hopper, who told me not to get on his bad side.
But you're not a dog... |
I saw three houses close together, all with their lights on, so I decided to go into them and see who lived in them. I met Rosie (an energetic cat), Derwin (a silly duck), and Melba (an adorable koala) by doing this.
Rosie the cat. |
Ummm, what's with the heart? |
I think she's so cute. |
Finally, as I was walking near the beach, I met a mouse named Bree. For some reason, she was shocked that I was being nice to her... Kinda sad, really.
That face looks silly. |
I went back to my house to nap for a bit before I went to work for Nook.
